West Bengal Meeting Chief of Opposition and BJP chief, Suvendu Adhikari, on Friday lodged a grievance towards Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her reported remarks on initiating counter-arrests. Adhikari’s grievance alleges felony intimidation and seeks justice towards the Chief Minister. In a letter addressed to the police, Adhikari acknowledged, “The actions of such a nature disclose offences that are cognizable in nature and instantly making an attempt to focus on me and the opposite members propagating the identical ideology.”
He urged the police to register an FIR towards Mamata Banerjee below related sections of the Indian Penal Code. “If the Police refuse to register the FIR, I’ll await 72 hours after which strategy the ACJM Court docket requesting to take cognisance of the grievance,” he talked about in a publish on X.
The grievance stems from CM Mamata’s speech at Netaji Indoor Stadium on November 23, 2023, the place she stated, “4 of our legislators are behind bars now.
