An Air India Categorical flight (IX 549) sure for Muscat aborted its take-off at Thiruvananthapuram Worldwide Airport, Kerala, after smoke was detected on the plane on Friday morning, October 4, 2024. The incident occurred at 8:39 AM because the flight was getting ready for departure. There have been 148 passengers on board.
The flight was scheduled to take off stopped as smoke was observed through the take-off initiation. Passengers have been safely returned to the terminal, and airport authorities have confirmed that there was no hearth onboard. Investigations are at the moment underway to find out the supply of the smoke.
All passengers have been safely transferred, and another plane has been organized for his or her onward journey to Muscat. Air India Categorical issued a press release addressing the incident: “As a result of suspected smoke noticed throughout take-off initiation, certainly one of our plane returned to the bay at Thiruvananthapuram airport. Another plane has been organized for the onward journey of our friends. An investigation will probably be carried out to find out the precise nature of the difficulty. We remorse the inconvenience whereas prioritising security in each side of our operations.”
The flight returned to the bay as checks continued to make sure the security of the plane and its passengers.
