Rajasthan state minister Surendra Pal Singh on Monday tendered his resignation from the cupboard after going through a defeat within the Karanpur meeting election. The announcement was made by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. “Surendra Pal Singh, BJP candidate from the Karanpur constituency, graciously accepts the general public mandate and tenders his resignation from the ministerial publish,” he posted on X, previously Twitter.
Surendra Pal Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Occasion (BJP) candidate, confronted an embarrassing defeat within the Karanpur constituency, dropping to his Congress rival by a margin of 11,283 votes. He had been inducted into the Bhajanlal Sharma cupboard on December 30, 2022, forward of the polling on January 5. He was assigned the portfolios of Agriculture Advertising and marketing Board, Indira Gandhi Canal Division, and Minority Affairs Division.
Underneath the stipulated guidelines, Singh was required to safe election as a Member of the Legislative Meeting (MLA) inside six months of assuming workplace as a minister.
Based on the chief electoral workplace, Congress candidate Rupinder Singh Koonar secured 94,950 votes, whereas Singh trailed with 83,667 votes. Koonar’s victory was decisive, with 18 rounds of counting performed.
This marks the second electoral defeat for Surendra Pal Singh within the Karanpur constituency. He had beforehand misplaced to Koonar’s father, Gurmeet Singh, within the 2018 Rajasthan meeting elections.
Based on PTI, Koonar expressed gratitude to the voters, “I’m grateful to the folks of Karanpur who voted for me… even central ministers had come for campaigning (however) folks rejected them and made democracy win.”
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot extending his congratulations to the Congress candidate stated, “The folks of Karanpur have defeated the satisfaction of the BJP”.
Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra, in a publish on social media, asserted, “The general public has taught a lesson to the BJP, which flouted the code of conduct and morality by making its candidate a minister throughout the elections. When the constitutional establishments of the nation neglect their tasks, then justice is completed within the public court docket. This mandate is a slap on the BJP’s dictatorship and undemocratic coverage.”
