Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday addressed the December 13 safety breach incident within the Lok Sabha and the suspension of 14 opposition MPs, emphasising that the choice aimed to uphold the sanctity of the Home. In a letter to all Members of Parliament, he highlighted the seriousness of the incident, expressing deep concern and underlining the necessity to strengthen safety preparations in Parliament.
In a letter shared by information company PTI, he acknowledged, “The unlucky incident that occurred contained in the Home is a matter of grave concern for all of us. We expressed our collective concern over this incident within the Home.” The Speaker outlined instant actions taken, together with the formation of a high-level Inquiry Committee to analyze the incident completely. The committee has already commenced its work, and its report will probably be shared with the Home, he talked about.

14 Opposition MPs Suspended From Parliament
The suspension of 14 opposition MPs, together with 9 from the Congress, was introduced because the Lok Sabha safety breach escalated into a significant row.
