An Indian Coast Guard ship rescued a fishing boat, which had encountered engine failure practically 215 nautical miles from Karwar in Karnataka on Tuesday.
ICG Ship Savitribai Phule had swiftly responded to a misery name from Indian Fishing Boat (IFB) ‘Rosary’ on April 13, and, quickly, established communication with the boat amid hostile sea situations, officers stated, as per PTI.
The ship efficiently rescued ‘Rosary’, which had encountered engine failure roughly 215 nautical miles from Karwar, the Defence Ministry stated in an announcement.

“Upon its arrival, the boarding staff of the ICG ship made efforts to repair the seized engine, earlier than the boat was rendered motionless,” the assertion stated.

Sharing a video on X (previously Twitter), the Indian Coast Guard stated, “@IndiaCoastGuard swiftly responded to misery name from IFB Rosary stranded as a consequence of engine failure 215 Nm into sea from Karwar. Regardless of difficult situations, ICG Ship Savitribai Phule offered important technical help and towed the vessel safely to Karwar. The ICG stated that the fishing boat was then towed in direction of Karwar with the assistance of Coast Guard District Headquarters in Karnataka in collaboration with the fisheries division. The ship was handed over to IFB Shree Laxmi Narayan, which safely escorted it to Karwar port, officers stated.
Earlier this month, the Indian Coast Guard rescued eight fishermen who have been stranded after their boat developed a crack at sea 95 nautical miles off the coast of Chennai. The Coast Guard managed to avoid wasting eight out of the ten crew members aboard the fishing boat, whereas one fisherman misplaced his life and one other remained lacking after the boat sank within the Bay of Bengal.
