New Delhi: India on Wednesday rejected an announcement issued by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the Supreme Courtroom’s verdict upholding the abrogation of Article 370 that gave particular standing to Jammu and Kashmir.
On Tuesday, the Common Secretariat of the OIC expressed concern over the Supreme Courtroom verdict. “OIC Common Secretariat expresses concern over the Indian Supreme Courtroom’s Judgment Upholding the Unilateral Actions Taken by the Indian Authorities on fifth August 2019 that Stripped the Particular Standing of the Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” the OIC posted.
The Common Secretariat additionally reaffirmed its solidarity with the individuals of Jammu and Kashmir.
Exterior Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi mentioned the OIC’s motion was “each ill-informed and ill-intended.”
“India rejects the assertion issued by the Common Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on a judgement of the Indian Supreme Courtroom. It’s each ill-informed and ill-intended,” Bagchi mentioned.
MEA spokesperson mentioned that the OIC makes such remarks on the behest of a “serial violater of human rights and an unrepentant promoter of cross-border terrorism” which makes its motion much more questionable.
Although Bagchi didn’t identify any nation, it was clear that the reference was in the direction of Pakistan.
“That OIC does so on the behest of a serial violater of human rights and an unrepentant promoter of cross border terrorism makes its motion much more questionable. Such statements solely undermine OIC’s credibility,” he added.
Bagchi was responding to a media question.
The Supreme Courtroom had on Monday upheld the Centre’s August 5, 2019 resolution to abrogate Article 370. The apex court docket dominated that Article 370 was a brief provision.
