Sandeshkhali in West Bengal’s North 24-Parganas district has been tense with numerous ladies within the locality accusing TMC strongman Shajahan Sheikh and his supporters of “land-grab and sexually assaulting” them below coercion.
Within the letter, Sai wrote, “Within the Sandeshkhali space of your state, incidents like brutal rape of over 50 ladies belonging to tribal communities, snatching of land from hundreds of tribals and even snatching the cash for MNREGA wages have tarnished humanity. The stories given by the Nationwide Fee for Scheduled Tribes are grotesque and horrifying.”
He referred to as the incidents in opposition to the ladies “heart-wrenching and deeply distressing.”
“Historical past bears witness that the ladies’s empowerment motion started within the state of Bengal. In a state recognized for its cultural richness, with luminaries equivalent to Swami Vivekananda, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the society can’t tolerate the atrocities inflicted upon the marginalized sections. Such oppression occurring in an enlightened state below your management is extremely condemnable. Exploiting the lives of indigenous folks, compromising their dignity and well-being, attributable to mere appeasement and politics of votes, is insupportable,” Sai additional said.
He urged Banerjee to rise above political concerns and take motion within the curiosity of humanity.
