<p>NEW DELHI: Heavy rains in Uttarakhand precipitated a major rise within the Ganga River’s water stage in Rishikesh on Sunday. The river surged as much as Triveni Ghat Aarti Sthal, prompting the State Catastrophe Response Pressure (SDRF) to challenge a warning to vacationers, advising in opposition to staying on the ghats in a single day. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Dehradun, Lokjeet, said that the police are working carefully with the administration and have evacuated residents from the riverbanks as a precaution.
