Delhiites awakened on Friday to a thick layer of smog engulfing the nationwide capital, with the air high quality again within the ‘extreme’ class in most elements, in line with the Central Air pollution Management Board (CPCB). The Air High quality Index (AQI) in Anand Vihar on Friday morning stood at 411. It was recorded at 432 in Alipur 432, 443 in Wazirpur and 422 in RK Puram.

The deterioration in AQI comes following a dip in temperature and gradual wind velocity at evening. For many of the week, the typical AQI had remained within the ‘very poor’ class resulting from beneficial wind velocity.
