Odisha Police on Sunday detained a British nationwide for coming into the Jagannath Temple in Puri and assaulting the police personnel deployed contained in the shrine, a police officer stated.
The international vacationer, recognized as Thomas Craig Sheldon from Wandsworth in south London, unauthorisedly entered the Twelfth-century shrine in Puri on Saturday, in line with information company PTI.
Eyewitnesses stated that the British nationwide blended in with lots of of devotees, partially overlaying his face and evaded the legislation enforcement officers. Nonetheless, some officers seen him allegedly abusing guests and he was escorted out, in line with a report in New Enviornment India.

When the police personnel stopped him and requested him to go away the temple premises as non-Hindus usually are not allowed entry contained in the temple, Thomas Craig allegedly assaulted the cops.

The incident occurred few days after a Polish girl was detained and later launched for coming into the Jagannath Temple on March 23. Previous to that, a couple of Bangladeshi nationals had been caught whereas coming into the temple on March 3 and later launched.
