Union House Minister Amit Shah carried out ‘Mangla Aarti’ at Jagannath temple in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad on Sunday morning forward of the Rath Yatra 2024. He was accompanied by his spouse, Sonal Shah, on the temple. The 147th version of the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is about to happen on July 7 in Ahmedabad.

Forward of the yatra, safety has been beefed up for the occasion. Greater than 15,000 police personnel have been deployed to protect the occasion, which pulls lakhs of devotees, information company ANI reported, citing police.

Giving particulars of the yatra, JCP Ahmedabad Police Chief Neeraj Badgujar stated, “Right this moment, the 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will happen. Rehearsals have been achieved for this Rath Yatra by the police. Greater than 15,000 police personnel have been deployed. Expertise like CCTV and drone surveillance will even be used. Preparations have been made so the devotees don’t face any hassle.”

Shah’s go to to the Jagannath temple comes a day after Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel provided prayers on the Jagannath Puri Temple in Odisha on the eve of Lord Jagannath’s 147th Rath Yatra.
