Assam CM is making all makes an attempt to cease individuals from becoming a member of the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra. Nobody can cease this yatra. We’re in Assam for the following 7 days. Allow them to arrest us, we settle for the problem,” Jairam Ramesh mentioned on Friday.

Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ and its chief organiser KB Byju landed in bother on Thursday after the Assam Police registered an FIR. The FIR was registered as a result of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra allegedly deviated from its permitted route in Assam’s Jorhat. The Assam Police in its FIR mentioned that the rally contributors, or Yatris, took a “flawed flip”, which led to a “chaotic scenario” within the space.
“Some individuals fell because of the sudden rush of individuals, and a stampede-like scenario was created. A suo motu FIR has been registered at Jorhat Sadar Police Station in opposition to the Yatra and its chief organiser,” a police officer was quoted as saying by information company PTI.
Chief of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia, nevertheless, mentioned that the FIR was an excuse to create obstacles for the Yatra. “There was no police manning the site visitors diversion on the PWD level. The assigned route was too small and we had an enormous gathering. So, we took a detour for only a few metres. Himanta Biswa Sarma is afraid of the Yatra’s success on the primary day (in Assam) and now desires to derail it,” he mentioned.
Rahul Gandhi on Friday morning took a ship throughout the Brahmaputra, from Nimati Ghat, Jorhat to Majuli. The Yatra on Friday will finish in Gogamukh village within the Dhemaji district of Assam.
