Minister of State for Exterior Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi on Saturday denied that she accredited any reply to a query within the Lok Sabha pertaining to declaration of Hamas a terrorist organisation. In response to a publish on X on the Lok Sabha query on declaring Hamas a terrorist organisation, Lekhi mentioned, “You may have been misinformed as I’ve not signed any paper with this query and this reply,” .
The unstarred query No. 980, titled “Declaration of Hamas as Terrorist Organisation”, was put by Congress MP Kumbakudi Sudhakaran.
The minister of state for exterior affairs mentioned in a reply on X, “Designation of an organisation as terrorist is roofed underneath the Illegal Actions Prevention Act and declaring any organisation as terrorist is taken into account as per the provisions of the Act by the related authorities departments”.
